High waisted, wide legged trousers with and dart on the back. The waist is finished with a facing and closed with a zipper in the side seam.


Fabric choice:

Light to medium weight woven fabric. Cotton, Silk, Wool, Viscose, Cupro, Linen or Polyester. Works well in fabrics with comfort stretch. Not suitable for jersey.

Cutting Fabric


On each pattern piece you will find a capital letter. On the cutting layout plan, you will find the same capital letters so that you can easily see which pattern pieces to use for the view you have chosen.

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING PATTERN PIECES:

Sewing


NB! THE PATTERN HAS 1 CM SEAM ALLOWANCES INCLUDED, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

1.     Cut all your pieces in fabric and interfacing as needed.  

2.     Press interfacing to the front and back yoke pieces (H) (I).

3.     Finish the seams of: 

You can finish by overclocking or making a zig-zag

·       Front and back rise (G) (F)

·       Inside seam on front and back (G) (F)

·       Side seams on both front and back (G) (F)

4.     Sew the darts on the back pieces (F) with right sides together. Fold according to the markings. Press towards the centre back. 

SEW THE PANTS

 5.     Sew the left side seam, right sides together. 

6.      Sew the right side seam, right sides together, stop at the hip notch.

7.      Sew the inseams, right sides together. Press all seams open.

 

8.     Sew the crutch seam, place the left leg inside the right leg with right sides together.

9.     Sew front and back facing (H) (I) together on the left side, right sides together. Press seam open

10.     Finish the longest edge with an overlock or bias tape.

SEW THE ZIPPER

 11.     Place the right side of the zipper along the edge of the side seam. Place the end of the zipper band at the same height as the raw edge of the pants. 

12.     Baste stitch the zipper to the pants.

13.      Use a sewing foot for invisible zippers or flip the teeth of the zipper aside and sew the zipper in place.  

14.      Sew the rest of the side seam below the zipper. 

15.      Press the seam open and press the zipper gently from the right side.

16.     Place the facing to the pants, right side together, and sew.

17.     Clip notches to the seam allowance.

18.     Press the facing upwards and under-stitch the seam allowance to the facing.

19.     Turn the facing to the right side, sandwiched the zipper between the facing and the pants and sew together approx—0.5 cm from the edge. 

20.     Turn the facing gently and press in place.

20.     Finish the raw edge with an overlock or zig-zag    

21.     Press the hem inside the pants, and sew the hem with a catch stitch or a topstitch.
